Plasma Treatment Method for Tooth Enamel Surfaces

This invention provides a novel surface treatment method for the preparation and surface modification of tooth enamel surface before the application of dental adhesives, sealants, and cements. The inventive method effectively enhances the bonding of tooth enamels to materials used in the aforementioned procedures. The same materials are widely used in tooth bonding techniques, common in practice for cosmetic and pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and orthodontics. A better adhesion will significantly improve the life of some treatments and, in turn, grant a competitive edge to the holder of this technology.
